At Dental11 in Zurich Enge you can be treated in Greek. MDDr.(CZE) Polydefkis Papaioannou is from Cyprus and speaks Greek as his native language – as well as German and English. Our practice is a few minutes‘ walk from Sihlcity.
Why language matters at the dentist
Dental terminology is specialist vocabulary. Even people who speak confident everyday German may not know words like Wurzelkanal (root canal), Aufbissschmerz (pain on biting) or Taschentiefe (pocket depth) – yet they still have to understand what is being proposed before agreeing to treatment.
This matters most in exactly the moments that are already difficult: acute pain, deciding between saving and extracting a tooth, or going through a cost estimate. Informed consent only does its job if the patient genuinely understood the options. That is why we will discuss your diagnosis, treatment options and costs entirely in Greek if you prefer.

For Cypriots and Greeks living in Zurich
People new to Zurich usually face the same questions: how does the Swiss tariff system work? What does health insurance cover – and what does it not? Why does dental care cost so much more here than back home?
We answer these calmly and in your own language, before you agree to any treatment. You do not need to bring someone along to translate.

Can I have my cost estimate explained in Greek?
Yes. We go through the written cost estimate line by line with you and explain what is medically necessary and what remains optional.
