Prophylaxis & Teeth Cleaning

About the treatment
Does it hurt?

Most patients find it easy to tolerate. For sensitive teeth, local anaesthesia or a desensitising agent is possible.

Does health insurance pay for dental hygiene?

Basic insurance usually does not. Some supplementary policies contribute. Please check directly with your insurer.

Will my teeth look whiter?

Removing stains often makes teeth look brighter. The natural tooth colour does not change; that requires whitening.

Will my gums bleed afterwards?

Slight bleeding in the first hours is normal with inflamed gums and usually settles quickly. If it lasts longer, please contact us.

Teeth Whitening (Bleaching)

About the treatment
How long does the result last?

This varies a lot and depends on diet, smoking and oral hygiene. Coffee, tea, red wine and nicotine cause new stains faster.

Does bleaching damage the enamel?

Professional whitening with approved products is considered safe. We do not whiten teeth with decay or leaking fillings.

What can I eat and drink afterwards?

For the first few days, avoid strongly colouring foods such as coffee, black tea, red wine, berries and curry.

Is whitening suitable for everyone?

Not always. During pregnancy, with very exposed tooth necks or untreated conditions we advise against it or postpone it.

Root Canal Treatment

About the treatment
Is a root canal painful?

The treatment is done under local anaesthesia. Afterwards the tooth may be sensitive for a few days.

How many appointments are needed?

Often two appointments of 60 to 90 minutes each. Complex cases may need another one. This depends on the findings.

Root canal or extraction?

This can only be judged after an examination. We explain both options with their pros, cons and costs.

Fillings, Crowns & Restorations

About the treatment
What is the difference between a crown and a bridge?

A crown restores a single tooth. A bridge replaces a gap and is supported by neighbouring teeth or implants.

Are ceramic crowns strong enough?

Modern ceramics are considered durable and proven. Which material fits depends on the tooth and your bite.

How long do crowns last?

That depends on oral hygiene, material, care and individual factors.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes, through the dental payment fund. You agree the terms directly with the fund.

Dental Implants

About the treatment
Is placing the implant painful?

The procedure is done under local anaesthesia. Slight swelling or pressure in the first days is normal.

How long does the whole treatment take?

From implant placement to the final crown usually 3 to 6 months.

What are the alternatives?

Depending on the situation, a bridge or a removable denture may be an option. We discuss the pros and cons of each.

ClearCorrect Aligners

About the treatment
How many hours a day do I wear the aligners?

Usually 20 to 22 hours a day. Wearing them much less extends treatment or puts the result at risk.

Are aligners really invisible?

They are clear and barely noticeable in everyday life. Small tooth-coloured attachments can be visible up close.

Do I need a retainer afterwards?

Yes. Without a retainer teeth are very likely to move back.

Aesthetic Dentistry

About the treatment
Veneers or bonding, which fits better?

That depends on your goals, tooth structure and budget. We advise you individually.

Is bonding reversible?

Often yes. Bonding is a very tooth-preserving treatment.

Can I whiten with sensitive teeth?

Yes, the protocol can be adapted and desensitising products can be used.

Pediatric Dentistry

About the treatment
When should my child first see a dentist?

As soon as the first teeth have come through, at the latest around the first birthday. Early visits are mainly for getting to know us.

Do baby teeth need treatment?
